The Whole Truth

The truth about Heaven and Hell is that they are both real. Jesus, who we cannot deny exists told a story about them.

The Rich Man and Lazarus

Luk 16:19 “There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day.

Luk 16:20 And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores,

Luk 16:21 who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores.

Luk 16:22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried,

Luk 16:23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.

Luk 16:24 And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’

Luk 16:25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.

Luk 16:26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’

Luk 16:27 And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father's house—

Luk 16:28 for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’

Luk 16:29 But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’

Luk 16:30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’

Luk 16:31 He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’”

As I said before. We cannot deny the existence of Jesus (Christ). History records Him. Almost all cultures on the planet have records of Him. We cannot deny that He is, and was real. If in truth He was who He claimed to be, who His followers claimed He was, then should we not believe His stories as factual? Was the account recorded above just some made-up story, or in truth the actual truth? And if it is the actual truth why would anyone want to live eternity in torment?

We have a way out of that end. As Jesus told in the story. The warning has been given. The solution is already in place.

Mar 16:6 And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.

If we ask (seek) for Him. Accept Him as the Christ, believe that His promise of heaven is ours, then we have salvation. So very simple. Too simple to make sense to our human minds. Why? Because we think we have to do something to earn forgiveness. That is not true. God loves us so much that He only wants us to ask for it, and nothing more. Yet we lack the faith, the ability to give in to a free gift.

Do NOT miss heaven because you can't accept something that is given freely. Ask today to have ALL your sins forgiven. Decided to believe. When you do you will know that He is real. The only thing you have to lose is HELL. Now that's a good deal.
